The Pretrial Services Program supports community well-being and safety efforts by providing accurate information to the judicial system for release decisions and provides structured supervision of defendants while on a supervised Personal Recognizance Bond (PR Bond). Defendants should appear at the courthouse unless otherwise authorized to appear by phone or WebEx.
1. Cash Bond: Post the full bail amount in cash with the court. If you fail to appear, the bond amount may be subject to forfeiture.
2. Surety Bond: A bail bond company signs a promissory note to the court for the full bail amount and charges you a fee for the service. If you fail to appear, the bond company may be liable to the court for the full bail amount.
3. Personal Recognizance (PR) Bond: The court releases you on a signed agreement that you will appear in court as required. A PR Bond may have a condition or multiple conditions as set forth by the judge.

If you were ordered to complete a firearm relinquishment due to a domestic violence arrest, documentation must be provided to the courts. Where do I go if I am ordered to complete drug or alcohol testing as a condition of my PR Bond?
Pretrial Services provides free court-ordered testing service through El Paso County Public Health. Intake must be completed only at 1675 W. Garden of the Gods within 48 hours of release. Once you have completed an intake, you will be provided a unique calling code and required to call in daily to 1-800-494-1250 between the hours of 5 AM to 12 PM only. Or check the website at http://www.drugtestcheck.com. If you are scheduled to test on the day you call, you are to report to El Paso County Public Health at 1675 West Garden of The Gods Road, Suite 2044, CO Springs, CO 80907. Hours of operation are only from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
You must complete your court-ordered test on the day you are scheduled. You may go to an alternate testing locatio n of your choosing. Attached is a list of some of these testing agencies. All fees charged by this alternate testing will be your responsibility to pay. Proof of the testing must be provided to Pretrial Services within twenty-four hours. If results are sent to a lab, you must provide these results to Pretrial Services within seven business days. El Paso County Public Health is the vendor for testing through Pretrial Services. If their office has a delayed opening or is closed due to the weather, it will be posted on the El Paso County Website and through news media.
